INDUS provides industrial support services across the Undersea Weapons Department (Code 30), Test and Evaluation Department (Code 20), Undersea Systems & Sustainment Department (Code 40) and Unmanned and Theater Undersea Warfare Systems Department (Code 50), of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport (NUWCDIVKPT). Requirements include providing technical support services associated with various industrial operations, depot repair activities, and torpedo intermediate maintenance functions.

 

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Jr. Logistician will be responsible for packing and wrapping inbound/outbound assets and updating logistics databases with current information on the NUWCDIVKPT Industrial Support Services (ISS) contract. This position is located in Keyport, WA.

 

This position works a specific shift: Daytime shift (schedule TBD pending government direction); possible swing shift may be required to meet emergent needs (swing shift differential provided).

What You'll Do

  • Responsibilities range from packing and wrapping inbound and outbound assets, to updating logistics databases with current information.
    • Leads in this area include all the job functions for logistics support, as well as provide training, obtain system access, identify job expectations, workload assignment, tracking training and qualifications, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Ensure procedures are followed in associated task areas. Provide feedback on defective procedures.
  • Provide input to Task Area Lead(s) to ensure best practices are being followed.
  • Be ready to cross-train across any Logistics area in the ISS Contract including but not limited to Torpedo Depot and Torpedo Intermediate Maintenance Activity (IMA) for 3-6-month rotations (rotation assignment is at the discretion of the coordinating Task Leads, the Deputy PM, and the PM).
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience with industrial logistics support.
  • Must be able to manually lift of 75lbs (occasionally)
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain license and certification to operate 6,000-pound electric and diesel forklift and CAT III
  • overhead crane.
  • Must possess ability and experience to operate pallet jack and Big Joe stand-behind pallet lift mechanism.
  • Working level knowledge of Navy acquisition, Navy Supply, and ERP processes and documents.
  • Must possess basic MS Office Skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) with special emphasis on MS Excel; Good to excellent writing skills. Attention to details and organization.
  • Your ability to receive medical certification (if required).
  • Your ability to obtain and maintain any appropriate licenses and certifications (if required).
  • Must be able to comprehend and execute written and verbal trainings and procedures.
  • Must be able to follow and complete on-the-job training as required:
    • INDOC Training:
      • Positions in the Torpedo Intermediate Maintenance Activity (IMA) and Torpedo Depot require up front 2-week education and familiarization courses with a follow-on test for comprehension.
      • Basic reading, comprehension, and computer skills (see below) are required.
    • QUALS Training: All positions carry some additional qualifications training against the skillsets of an Logistician Technician.
      • At minimum, in addition to skillsets of a Logistician Technician, basic reading comprehension and computer skills (see below) are required.
  • Must possess ability to operate computers and perform the following functions, including but not limited to:
    • Alphanumeric data entry, spreadsheet review and data entry, capability of switching between computer applications with relative ease.
    • Ability to complete Web-Based training.
    • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to create Program Office acquisition lifecycle plans (LCSP).
  • Technical writer experience for maintenance procedures and test procedures.
  • Working level knowledge of supply, procurement, material movement, stocking & inventory, Navy supply system.  
  • Experience in interfacing with military personnel

 

INDUS aims to provide a competitive compensation package, including a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay for this position is $25.20 -$27.95 per hour.
