INDUS supports the planning, coordination, and installation activities of Combat System and Command, Control, Communications, Computer, and Intelligence (C5I) Systems in aircraft carriers, and other strike group or strike force units (including but not limited to LHA, LHD, LPD, and other L-Class units). Our team is directly responsible for supporting the planning, budgeting, and execution of New Construction (SCN) testing and modernization efforts in support of the Modernization and Installation Department (N Department), Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD).

 

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Technical Program Manager supports the Amphibious Ships Customer Advocate with planning, implementing and executing technical programs, policies and management actions relative to acquisition and design, shipyard production, industrial stage testing, at-sea testing, and Combat Systems In-Service Engineering of Amphibious ship platforms for the Modernization and Installation Department (N Department), Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD) on the CVN/L-Class Support Services contract. This position is located in Port Hueneme, CA. This is a part-time role expected to regularly work 20 hours per week.

What You'll Do

  • Provide the technical expertise to review products and services to determine if they are within the expectation of quality as directed by Program office requirements.
  • Conduct reviews of preliminary/draft/final technical documentation, combat deactivation procedures, Combat Systems Operational Sequencing System (CSOSS), Combat Systems Interface Diagram (CSID), Overall Combat Systems Operability Test (OCSOT), Industrial Test Procedures, and other test plans.
  • Assist in detailed review of known testing issues prior to major test events.
  • Work with applicable organizations and personnel to resolve high visibility technical issues spanning across various functional areas and organizations.
  • Assist the program office with detailed planning for sponsors PEO Developmental Testing.
  • Participate in SCN Amphibious ship certification meetings and processes to ensure that the NSWC Amphib Customer Advocate is represented.
  • Support the generation of post-test wrap up meetings and summary reports. Assist in financial management and long-range planning.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in engineering/science management, operations research analysis or financial/cost analysis within U.S. Navy programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan workload and meet established deadlines.
  • The individual must be able to clearly and concisely articulate technical subject matter both written and verbally.
  • Ability to travel and work aboard ship.
  • Other duties as assigned and/or proposal development support.
  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Travel Required ~10% travel required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of current and future Combat System baselines and the ability to assist with test execution.
  • Knowledge of Combat Systems and Amphibious Ship Modernization and Installation processes.
  • Be comfortable presenting work progress and status presentations in meetings with Senior Program personnel.
  • Possess a Project Management Professional (PMP), or obtain one shortly after hiring.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to plan, coordinate and execute project activities on schedule.
  • Must possess strong self-initiative and ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to work both independently and on a team in a highly dynamic and challenging environment.
  • Ability to effectively brief senior level Navy personnel.

 

INDUS aims to provide a competitive compensation package, including a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is $55,000. – $67,500. This position is eligible to participate in our corporate 401(k) and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) programs, and may be eligible for performance bonuses, and other rewards and benefits (see more about our compensation package and benefits offered at Culture @ INDUS | INDUS Technology). The pay range for this role considers job-related knowledge, skills, work location, education and training, and certifications.
