Reporting to the Program Manager, the Sr. Cybersecurity Specialist provides DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Information Assurance (IA) security compliance policies, programs, processes, and metrics support on the PEO Unmanned and Small Combatants (PEO USC) Support Services contract. This position is located in Panama City Beach, FL.

What You'll Do

  • Provide Cybersecurity oversite duties in an environment that includes physical and virtual machines with a variety of operating systems to include Windows and Linux.
  • Maintain the functionality and efficiency of systems while protecting data integrity and supporting the security posture of those systems.
  • Evaluate new network management technologies and make recommendations to project managers regarding the integration of these new technologies into the existing network.
  • Perform system maintenance including diagnostics, troubleshooting, patch management.
  • Perform cybersecurity services to include:
    • Assessment of security posture.
    • System documentation and methodologies.
    • Application and file security.
    • Implementation of Security practices.
    • Hostile intrusion detection and prevention.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, or related field (may accept additional years of experience in lieu of degree from an accredited university).
  • At least nine (9) years of experience in DoD Risk Management Framework and Information Assurance (IA) security compliance policies, programs, processes, and metrics.
  • Must have or obtain DoD 8570 Cybersecurity Level I, II or III certification e.g., Security+, CASP, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  • Experience patching and updating systems and networking equipment.
  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Travel Required ~10% travel required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Operating system certifications e.g. Microsoft Certified Professional.
  • CompTIA Network+.
  • Ability to evaluate new network management technologies and make recommendations to project managers regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing network.
  • Ability to analyze Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) requirements to determine applicability to existing systems. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification.
  • Linux+ Certified.
  • Knowledge of Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server 2016, Redhat, and Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • Certification in Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level Advanced.
  • Familiarity with DOD tools, e.g. DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG), DISA Security Checklist.
  • Familiarity with the following:
    • ACAS Nessus Vulnerability scanner
    • Comprehensive Information Technology Inventory (CITI) and making changes to that system.
    • Linux operating systems.
    • Windows and/or Linux system administration.
    • McAfee HBSS ePO Server.
    • Familiarity with networked systems, maintaining a network switch, and remote updating of those systems.
