NIWC PAC CDL & ISR ISEA Support provides In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) support for tactical data links and related systems in support of the US Navy. Support areas include Technical Assistance, Fleet In-Service Engineering Support, Maintenance Support, In-Service Risk Management, Integrated Logistics Support, Technical Oversight of commercial/non-governmental In-Service engineering activities, Configuration Management, Readiness and Life Cycle Analysis, Technical Documentation Development and Reliability/Availability and Maintainability (RAM) reporting and metrics.

 

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Electronics Technician Maintenance (ETM) II provides technical expertise in the testing, repair, installation, and maintenance of complex electronic systems and equipment, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with technical standards on the NIWC PAC CDL & ISR ISEA Support Services contract. This position is located in San Diego, CA.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in testing, installing, repairing, and maintaining shipboard and shore-based electronic systems to ensure they meet operational readiness standards.

  • Support work on systems such as Link 11, Link 16, JTIDS, MIDS, MOS MOD, CDLMS, LMMT, CDLS, C2P, and CANES, under the direction of senior technicians.

  • Help configure and operate communication links including UTJ, MTJ, STJ, ICOP, JREAP, and other Tactical Data Link (TDL) systems.

  • Participate in pre-installation and post-installation testing, including System Operational Verification Tests (SOVTs) and pre-installation test and check-out procedures (PITCO).

  • Assist in preparing and submitting Casualty Reports (CASREPs).

  • Unpack, inspect, and verify incoming equipment to ensure compliance with technical requirements before installation.

  • Replace or repair faulty components and arrange transportation or shipping for repair items when needed.

  • Support installation, upgrades, and field changes, and coordinate with other technicians and ship/shore personnel.

  • Help prepare and deliver installation summaries and daily updates to leadership and operational teams.

  • Perform system relocations and reinstallation, ensuring any impacted areas are restored to their original condition.

  • Follow established procedures for working with computers, networking equipment, and communications systems.

  • Work in shipboard and/or shore environments that may require climbing towers or other elevated structures, following all safety protocols and using proper fall protection equipment.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • HS Diploma required.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience providing electronics technical support directly to a NAVWAR Echelon III program office.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining, installing, and operating Link 11, Link 16, JTIDS, MIDS, MOS MOD, CDLMS, LMMT, CDLS, and/or C2P.
  • Demonstrated experience configuring and supporting UTJ (Unicast TADIL-J), MTJ (Multicast TADIL-J), STJ (Satellite TADIL-J), ICOP, JREAP, TDL, etc.
  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment. 
  • Travel Required ~20% travel required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior U.S. Navy experience as an Electronics Technician (ET) or Information Systems Technician (IT) maintaining and supporting Tactical Data Links (TDL) is highly desired.

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to lift items that may weigh up to 50 pounds.
  • The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, or recurring and considerable walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing such as performing regular shop activities, inspections, or to observe and study operations in an industrial or comparable work area, or on-board ships, submarines, and/or in weapon facilities.

 

INDUS aims to provide a competitive compensation package, including a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is $33.93 - $38.18 per hour. The pay range for this role considers job-related knowledge, skills, work location, education and training, and certifications.
