PMS 400D is charged with the design, build, outfit, and test DDG 51 Arleigh Burke Class Guided Missile Destroyer Ships. The focus of PMS 400D continues to be ship design and production, including a full range of engineering and program management. This work is performed in conjunction with serial production of ships, is enduring, not inherently government, does not affect policy, and increases the design performance capability of the DDG 51 Class ships before Government final acceptance.

 

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Logistics Analyst (GFE Manager) is responsible for providing Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), and Installation and Checkout Spares (INCO) coordination support to a Navy New Ship Construction (SCN) program on the PMS 400D Professional Support Services contract. This position is located in Bath, ME.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the receipt of Schedule “A” Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), liaise with Ships Government Equipment Management (GEM) and the Shipbuilder to identify incoming shipments, track shortages, research and answer Shipbuilder submitted exceptions, discrepancies, and rejects of receipts. Manage disposition of residual GFE before sail-away.

  • Communicate with SSBA, PARMs, ISEAs, Ship-yard personnel and GF ILS team to ensure material support to meet production in yard need dates.

  • Communicate with the Supervisor of Shipbuilding Project Office to obtain approval and track all cannibalizations of GFE.

  • Coordinate with Shipbuilder’s warehouse personnel to track stowage, receipt, and inventory COSAL material through turnover to the ship.

  • Prepare requisition documents, shipping documents, transfer documents, provide reports for INCO usage, failure data, and advise the Government for INCO depth and range adjustments.

  • Manage the Test Failure Report (TFR) program.

  • Provide GFM support to AEGIS Test Team (ATT) through all phases of testing.

  • Prepare and request GF material ship-outs in support of repair, return, disposition, and any additional material movement requirements.

  • Provide additional ILS product support as requested by ILS team lead.

  • Bid and proposal support if requested.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • Associate degree from an accredited university required OR a HS Diploma with five (5) years of experience providing logistics support to a Navy program office.
  • At least three (3) years of experience providing logistics management support to a federal program office.
  • Demonstrates experience managing material receipt, inventory, and shipping.
  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in engineering or a related technical field is desired.
  • New Ship Construction (SCN) experience is desired.
  • Direct experience managing GFE for Navy shipbuilding programs is desired.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
