Reporting to the Deputy Program Manager, the DEMIL Operations Manager supervises the demilitarization (DEMIL) and disposal of conventional ammunition, missiles and other items IAW both the Demil and the Environmental PWS. This position ensures compliance with all existing and pertinent International, Federal, State, and Local statutes, laws, and regulations for the safeguarding, and handling, processing, storage, transportation, disposition and disposal of ammunition and explosives in accordance with DoD 4145.26-M, “DOD Contractor’s Safety Manual for Ammunition and Explosives”, DODI 4140.62, “Material Potentially Presenting an Explosive Hazard (MPPEH)”, and DOD 6055.09M Volume 7, “DoD Ammunition and Explosives Safety Standards: Criteria for Unexploded Ordnance, Munitions Response, Waste Military Munitions, and MPPEH."
This is a contingent position expected to be located in Hawthorne, NV. The pay range for the position will be provided at the time the position is no longer contingent.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma required.
Can demonstrate knowledge of DoDM, 4160.28-M “Defense Demilitarization volumes 1-3, DoD, 4145.26-M entitled “DoD Contractor’s Safety Manual for Ammunition and Explosives”, DoDI, 4140.62 MPPEH, DI-SAFT-81640, and DA PAM 385-64.
Must be fluent in speaking and writing the English Language.
