Reporting directly to the Deputy Program Manager, the Deputy, DEMIL & Ammunition supervises the demilitarization (DEMIL) and disposal of conventional ammunition, missiles and other items IAW both the Demil and the Environmental PWS. This position ensures compliance with all existing and pertinent International, Federal, State, and Local statutes, laws, and regulations for the safeguarding, and handling, processing, storage, transportation, disposition and disposal of ammunition and explosives in accordance with DoD 4145.26-M, “DOD Contractor’s Safety Manual for Ammunition and Explosives”, DODI 4140.62, “Material Potentially Presenting an Explosive Hazard (MPPEH)”, and DOD 6055.09M Volume 7, “DoD Ammunition and Explosives Safety Standards: Criteria for Unexploded Ordnance, Munitions Response, Waste Military Munitions, and MPPEH." This position is the primary contractor lead at the Army Depot for all Demil operations, to include Open Burn, Open Detonation, Disassembly and Disposal.
This is a contingent position expected to be located in Hawthorne, NV. The pay range for the position will be provided at the time the position is no longer contingent.
Required Qualifications:
High School degree with minimum of 12+ years of relevant operational experience on a military installation, OR associate’s degree from an accredited university in engineering, science, business, or related field with 10+ years of relevant management experience, OR bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in engineering, science, business, or related field with 8+ of relevant management experience, OR master’s degree with six or more (6+) years of relevant management experience.
Must be fluent in speaking and writing the English Language.
Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
Must possess strong time management skills.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Desired Qualifications:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or DAWIA Level III in Program Management.
Prior US Army Materiel Command experience, ideally within the Joint Munitions Command.
Prior Hawthorne Army Depot experience, ideally within the HWAD Open Burn and/or Open Detonation operations.
At least five (5) years of experience in Supervisory Demil experience, overseeing operations and/or shifts including over 50 staff.
Experience and/or knowledge of Unions and/or Collective Bargaining Agreements.
